Get the Best Price For Your Car – Tips on How to Increase Your Car Value Cheaply

When it comes to selling your much loved pride and joy or in some cases simply a means to an end there will always be that niggling feeling in the back of your mind wondering if the buyer of your car will notice some of the little quarks, faults or downsides that we know exist. Hopefully none of these should be too drastic so you should stop thinking about the least price you would accept; instead you should focus on getting the best price for your car using a few simple techniques that will win the buyers heart.

Assuming all the documentation is in order and the car is fully road legal without any bits hanging off or that make the vehicle look unsightly or badly damaged there is no reason why you shouldn’t expect to get the best price for your car.

Firstly and fairly obviously, though there are some that might overlook it, make sure that the car is clean, not just clean as in that will do clean, but a clean car that is worthy of a showroom. Here it is about finishing touches.

Here are some simple finishing techniques that only use a bit of effort, but are free and make a big difference to the overall appearance of the car once the rest is washed, cleaned, hoovered, and hopefully polished.

  • No smeary windows, clean the insides with a 80% – 20% water to vinegar solution and buff dry with a newspaper or antistatic cloth
  • The above also applies to mirrors, internal and external
  • Remove ANY stickers from rear window and clean off residue adhesives using water – vinegar mix
  • For best results on exterior glass use car polish not glass cleaners – wash glass first
  • The front window should only be cleaned with a warm moist chamois leather and wiped over with a newspaper or antistatic cloth
  • Clean and wash any ashtrays if smoking has taken place in the car
  • Clean headrests and tops of seats as this is so often overlooked
  • Clean internal handles and switches and clean any visual cavities
  • Wash and polish the door-shuts and metalwork on insides of doors as well as boot/trunk and inside the bonnet/hood
  • Take everything out of the vehicle that is not relevant to the vehicle. Only the documentation and a box of tissues should remain

These small details will make a big difference and will certainly help you get the best price for your car not only that, but they shouldn’t cost you anything to do.

Additionally there are also some tips that can be used on how to increase your car value cheaply and without a lot of effort on your part.

Not all of the below will be relevant to your car, plus the outlay for some of the below items should be added to the value of your car and you should be able to recoupe within the sale. This will mainly depend on age, overall value, and type of vehicle you are selling.

  • Ripped or damaged seats should be covered by car seat covers
  • Rips, burns, or stains on carpets should be covered by suitable rubber or material mats throughout
  • Boot floor damage should also be covered with moulded boot/trunk mat
  • Replace old tax disc holder for new round magnetic type – circles have cleaner lines
  • Highly clean tailpipe of exhaust or buy and fix on a tailpipe chrome cover or covers
  • If there is something internally missing such as a cigarette lighter or such like, try and replace it
  • Where possible make sure all bulbs and switches work
  • Any rusty nuts etc in engine bay should be sprayed with WD40

For some reason a car tends to look better overall when the windows and wheels are immaculate. We have already focused on the windows so now it’s time to spruce up the wheels and tyres.

  • Buy and fit mud-flaps or get them fitted by your local tyre fitters
  • Buy and fit chrome dust covers, car type where possible
  • Buy and fit new wheel center caps stylish and current where possible
  • Jet-wash wheels to clean inside as well, unless they have any flakey paint then hand clean only
  • Wash and clean tyres, when dry apply some tyre paint using a paint brush not spraying on and only use sparingly as will fly onto car bodywork when driven. Do not drive for a couple of hours after application

All these things will certainly increase the value of your car and get the best price for your car, but there is no substitute for regular care and upkeep of your car. This alone will maintain good value throughout the vehicles lifetime. The longer cars and car parts are left un-cleaned the harder it will always be to get clean and achieve a desirable finish.

Above all else, be sure that the car smells nice on the inside, this includes the boot/trunk…

How to Stretch Your Travel Budget With a Discount Car Rental

A self-drive holiday may sound hopelessly exorbitant if you’re on a tight budget. People tend to be discouraged by the idea of renting a car for a long period of time, imagining that it will eat up their entire travel fund. However, it’s actually easier to obtain a discount car rental than some people would imagine, especially in these financially-conservative times.

Car rentals are a business, after all, so making a smaller profit by renting out unpopular cars is better than making no profit at all. Most of the time, discounts can be found online. As such, the internet is a good place to start when looking for affordable rentals and a car rental discount code or two, but print media shouldn’t be discounted either. Prices may vary between different agencies, so it’s prudent to compare the finer details of each deal before settling on a particular one.

Timing can be everything when it comes to obtaining a discount car rental. As with some airlines in Asia, car rental agencies offer early-bird discounts if you book a car much earlier in advance of the actual date of your pick-up. Additionally, cancellation of the booking if you find an even better deal elsewhere will not incur extra costs either as long as it’s done early enough. Conversely, the shoulder period of a travel season, that is, just before or after peak travelling time, often sees car rental companies competing to outdo each other in their attempts to rent out any remaining cars. It’s possible to obtain a good rental deal at this time, but the choice and quality might be limited.

While car rental discount codes are extremely useful is helping you obtain a more affordable rental, although this might be subject to questionable quality. You might also want to consider the size of the car you want, especially if your group is a small one. Smaller cars tend to cost less to rent, and you’ll probably pay less for fuel too. As an added bonus, you’ll definitely have no trouble parking a small car.

Choice of E-Cigarette Cartridges

It is a fact that technology is fast growing increasing convenience and affordability. E-cigarettes are no exception. They are a replacement to normal tobacco cigarettes which inconvenience others. They generally have cartridges in them that contain nicotine in varying concentrations. There are different types of e-cigarette cartridges available. You can choose one as per your wish.

Electronic cigarettes or e-cigarettes are machines that resemble normal cigarette and give you the same kind of taste and flavour. E-cigarettes have cartridges of different types which are used for smoking. These cartridges contain nicotine in different dosages. There are also different flavours available in the cartridges. To know which one is right for you, first know the various types of cartridges available. In the market, currently there are three types of e-cigarete cartridges available- one, two and three-piece. All of them have their own positive and negative points. You choose the right cartridge depending on your machine and your preference.

One-piece e-cigarette cartridge

These are disposable type of e-cigarete cartridges. You throw it after use. You can use it to test an e-cigarette machine and decide if it works for you. There is a pre-charged battery that comes along. So you can use this immediately after buying. However, remember to dispose the battery along with the e-cigarete cartridges after use. To activate the battery, twist the battery or remove the safety tab so that the battery gets started. Pour the liquid into the atomizer and it is ready for use. This type of cigarette cartridge is cheap and easy to use.

Two-piece e-cigarette cartridges

Also known as cartomizer, the two-piece it can be refilled whenever needed. They are very convenient to use. You must remember to recharge the batteries from time to time and replace the liquid in the e-cigarete cartridges. However, if you use these types of e-cigarette cartridges on a regular basis then the atomizer will wear more quickly than other varieties.

Three-piece e-cigarette cartridges

This type of e-cigarette cartridges contains a battery, liquid and atomizer. This is the most preferred among all other cartridges by long-term smokers. Some beginners also prefer this because it is easy to use. These types of this are refillable and users can also modify them. However, one disadvantage of a three-piece e-cigarette cartridge is that it wears out more quickly than two-piece e-cigarette catridges. This is because the combined performance decreases due to continuous use.

Consumers are hard pressed for choice with these three different types of e-cigarete cartridges. While each one has some advantage, they also have some disadvantages. To decide the right type among all the e-cigarete cartridges for you, consider the number of times you smoke and your budget. If you keep buying cartridges from time to time then it will be an expensive venture. It may prove more expensive than buying tobacco cigarettes.

Economic Recession Blues – Hospitals Aren't an Exception

In its most recent update, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced that world growth is forecast to fall to its lowest level since World War II. And with the US being one of the worst hit, the hospital business, an integral part of the medical marketplace, and often regarded as recession proof is beginning to feel the heat.

Despite the fact that hospitals aren’t hit the way the way the automotive sector or the retail has been, and that people will continue to fall sick irrespective of the economy, it seems that the number of people seeking medical care and the profitability of hospitals don’t walk hand-in-hand.

Growth stunted & patients decreasing

A recent report by the American Hospital Association (AHA) finds that the sputtering economy has already led to 45% of hospitals to postpone forthcoming capital projects, with about 13% being forced to completely stall any expansion projects already underway. The AHA report included 639 hospitals in the study.

Further, experts believe that even though people continue to fall sick they’re postponing, most treatments if not all, which can be classified as elective. The credit for the prevailing scenario goes to all the layoffs and the slowing economy. As per the Bureau of Labor Statistics the month of December saw some of the worst layoff figures, as there were 2,275 mass layoff actions, involving 226,117 workers.

What seems worse is that aside from foregoing elective treatments, patients seem to be avoiding essential drugs, with many actually abusing prescription drugs, such as narcotic painkillers , sedatives and tranquilizers and stimulants.

As a consequence, hospitals are reeling under delayed hospital equipment and supply purchases, declining patient visits, reduced staff with no fresh hiring, unpaid medical bills, in addition to ceasing any construction projects. The AHA survey, released in November last year found that patient visits were static or had decreased during the third quarter of 2008, and the cases of unpaid medical bills for hospitals registered a hike of 8%.

The government’s role in uplifting the spirit of hospitals is being thought to be instrumental as Medicare and Medicaid account for about half of the hospital business industry.

E Cigarettes – Environmental Friendly and Stylish Alternatives to Smokers!

The mere sights of cigarette butts makes many cringe frown and roll their eyes in disgust. Insult is added to injury when the breath of one in close proximity to another is smoky and stale. It is such concerns that have led to the invention of E Cigarettes!

These are cigarettes whose utilization requires small power from battery and are also available in various flavors and varied nicotine levels. Owing to the fact that the charge from a short cable is required, carrying the electronic cigarettes and taking a puff away from the comfort of the home can be quite tasking in some case. This means that the smoking habits of individuals are in fact regulated! Also, the human body is protected from harmful smoke that is not emitted by the electrical version of these new age top notch cigarettes.

The Cigarettes Are In A Dignified Pack and They Are Durable!

For the first time ever, tobacco smokers do not have to carry matches and lighters causing burns to their finger tips and boring holes into their Sunday bests! Smoking has been taken a notch higher and the result is basic dignity for the smokers because they will not disrespect the non- smokers among them by contaminating the air that they breathe. Electronic cigarettes and the packages they come in can also be reused meaning that a lot of money isn’t spent in every interim in the purchase of pack after pack as in case of regular cigarettes. The style and durability factor surrounding the new age cigarettes is just remarkable!

They Are Environment Friendly!

For starters, this kind of cigarettes cannot be put on unless with a source of an electrical current. This means that rooms and pathways do not, under any circumstances, get filled with smoke just because a smoker passed by! The smoke usually part and parcel of the activity of smoking, is done away with meaning the air, even around a smoker, is always fresh! Disposals for the cigarettes have also been invented, meaning that they are gotten rid of responsibly so that there are no harmful smoking bits and pieces carelessly thrown away which pollute the environment!

E Cigarettes have made the world a better place, at the very least! Those who indulge in smoking on a regular or even irregular basis can therefore finally do so responsibly and while giving better consideration to their health.

Toolbox Tactics in Commercial Real Estate

You may say that the commercial real estate sales and leasing market is difficult at the moment. You will not be the first agent or investor to observe that fact. This is however a major opportunity market with properties adjusting to the beginning of a new property cycle.

You are at the beginning of new opportunity. Tenants, buyers, and sellers are still out there. It’s just that their sales, purchase, and rental strategy has needed to shift. So if you are a commercial real estate agent that works on retail, office, or industrial property, we are going to let you in on a major marketing secret that works tremendously well to generate listing opportunity in this economy and investment property shift.

Moving Your Business Forward?

So how do you move forward in this market to create real opportunity? You create a significant pipeline of opportunity from speaking to many people and helping them with the market adjustment process. This means that the help they require may be a listing or property this year, next year, or the year after, however they will need well qualified and experienced property professionals.

You must be that solution for them. You must be confident in this market. You should use a marketing point of difference and most particularly your ‘toolbox’ to attract and convert the clients that you need.

Sales and Leasing Together

In this market the best commercial real estate agencies specialise in both investment property sales and investment property leasing. In those specialist categories they can bring significant strategy and understanding to the property, together with a ‘toolbox’ approach for the customers and clients.

A great lease will one day support a great property sale. This means that every lease should be planned and structured to optimise the situation for the property owner. This is where ‘toolbox’ stands head and shoulders above generic marketing of commercial real estate services.

Solicitors Awareness of Property

Whilst talking about leases I would like to make an important and relevant observation. In doing so I do not want to upset the solicitors and legal people of the ‘property investment world’ however the following is a real fact.

Most solicitors and legal people that do the lease documents for the investment property owner have little awareness of the actual property in question and probably have not even inspected the property.

My apologies to the legal people that are the exception to the rule!

This random process of lease preparation is not good investment practice, considering that the property lease is to produce a cash flow over a number of years. Solicitors and property agents need to get together and make sure that all the elements of the property that enhance cash flow are well considered and placed in the property lease before it is signed!

In only this way can they bring real strategy and stability to the occupancy and cash flow!

What’s Your Agency Point of Difference Today?

Only yesterday I was speaking to a real estate agency that was working on identifying a point of difference in this market. They realized that the competition agencies they were up against in the market place were doing nothing special to attract and retain new business.

Those competition agencies were simply continuing the same practices of prospecting and conversion that they have been doing for years. They were not offering any new approach or support process to the clients in the market today.

Let’s face the facts. This market today requires experienced real estate agents that can bring solid levels of property strategy to the investor including:

  1. Rental strategies for the long term that match the lifecycle needs of the property owner
  2. Lease documentation which minimises cash flow and vacancy exposure
  3. Strength of tenancy profile that gives an element of prestige to the building
  4. Tenants that bring financial strength and stability to the building
  5. Lease deals that will enhance the opportunity of sale when the time comes
  6. A balance of net and gross rentals to optimise the best return on investment for the property owner
  7. Well controlled building operating costs that are contained within the averages of that property type for the area
  8. An occupancy experience in the property which strengthens the relationships between landlords and tenants
  9. A target market of tenants that are clearly identified and pursued in the marketing campaign.

So this list is in fact the elements of a ‘Lease ‘toolbox” approach to the market. Many commercial real estate agents will generally say that they do these things anyway. The reality is they do not. Most lease transactions today are undertaken in a ‘one off mindset’ with little balance to the long-term future and strength of the building.

In recent seminar workshop I asked the agency staff in a larger industrial agency to tell me what they would do for ‘me acting as the client’ in a lease transaction of a vacant space in a sample building. Many of the agency staff gave me a broad variety of initiatives and processes that were fairly standard in the industry. It was interesting to note that all of these ideas were not ‘bundled and packaged’ into something that was even remotely attractive to the ‘me’ as the property owner.

Let’s understand a simple fact. If you do not logically document and display for the client the stages of your professional commercial real estate property service and give it a name that the can client relate to, you are affectively a generic marketer. This is the major problem in the industry today. The client needs specific help and you must market your services in a ‘toolbox’ approach. Give your ‘toolbox’ a name and then market your business around it.

I also recommend that you use the advantages of PERT and GANTT models to do this ‘toolbox’, given that this great illustration approach really interests most clients. This helps you stand apart from the competition. You become the agency of choice.

‘Toolbox’ is Your Tactical Advantage

Every sales and leasing program should be subjected to the processes of the ‘toolbox’ so that the client knows that the best results, controls, and outcomes are seen to be achievable. The ‘toolbox’ process also suggests that you have a quality control procedure that every property is exposed to.

This ‘toolbox’ is simple marketing; however it can be easily implemented into your agency business making you more professional and desirable as the commercial real estate agency of choice in your region. Your ‘toolbox’ becomes your marketable point of difference. You should have a separate ‘toolbox’ for:

  • Commercial real estate sales
  • Commercial real estate leasing
  • Commercial real estate property management

Within each of these elements of service you should have a specific ‘toolbox’ which supports the property disciplines of:

  • Retail Property
  • Office Property
  • Industrial property
  • Specialist tourism and leisure

Listing Strategy in this Market

Let’s talk about the sales ‘toolbox’ now for a brief moment. In most cases the time needed to sell or rent a listing would be no longer than 12 weeks even in a tough market. After that time a listing becomes stale and a waste of your time. Choose your listings and the time on market with care.

A couple of essential rules need to be set here and incorporated into your sales ‘toolbox’. They are:

  1. Always seek vendor paid advertising – you are not the source of advertising funds to promote property no matter how good you think the property is. Vendor paid advertising sets the foundation of vendor commitment.
  2. Always seek exclusive or sole listings when you can
    – controlled stock is the only way to go. A seller of an open listing cannot be trusted and is likely to ‘shift in the wind’ on who they deal with. It should also be noted that exclusive listings are much more desirable than sole agency listings. It is your choice as to whether you would take on a sole agency.
  3. Always seek to list properties for sale on the basis of a ‘time driven’ method of sale such as tender, auction, or expression of interest. This is the best way to go to get and sustain momentum in the property promotion. Properties that are listed for sale at a fixed or nominated price are likely to be this undesirable hard to sell listings or over priced listings with little momentum. In such situations a buyer will make an offer; maybe that works for you; maybe it doesn’t.

These 3 rules above infer that you are the driving force that creates the quality listing. Nothing could truer. You drive the quality of the listing appointment that you want. If you let the owner of the property dictate the rules of engagement, you are likely to suffer poor results. Remember that you are the expert consultant to help people with commercial real estate needs; you are not the agent that lists everything and anything that comes your way at any price or rental.

In closing this ‘toolbox’ topic, here are some important rules:

  • In every listing know what you are doing and why.
  • Focus on the outcome that you want for the client.
  • Use your ‘toolbox’ as your point of difference to attract the client’s interests.
  • Understand that your time and expertise is precious.

Effective Bird Control For Healthcare Centers & Hospitals

It’s no secret that people who are already sick are more vulnerable to contracting diseases. And one potentially unhealthful source of disease is bird waste. As a hospital administrator, you are no doubt aware of the problems pest birds can cause. Many species of birds, including pigeons, starlings and sparrows, often gather to roost on a hospital’s roof, under parking structures, in receiving bays and loading docks, and around exterior employee lunch and snack areas. Without bird control, you soon have a noisy, smelly and potentially dangerous problem on your hands.

Keep in mind that a single pigeon can excrete up to 25 pounds of droppings per year. The bacteria, fungal agents and ectoparasites in bird droppings and nesting materials have been known to carry any of 60 diseases–including histoplasmosis, encephalitis, salmonella, meningitis, and toxoplasmosis, even the West Nile virus.

No less harmful is bird fecal dust carried into hospitals through rooftop heating, ventilation and air-conditioning ducts. Birds often build nests around air handling equipment, ducts, compressors and other vented pathways. Dried by wind and sun, this disease-infested dust gets sucked into HVAC systems. The fine particles can quickly spread diseases throughout a hospital or medical center.

Hospital administrators should also be aware of the negative visual impact bird droppings, nests and other debris can have on a hospital’s image. Finally, bird droppings can cause dangerous slip-and-fall hazards–a huge legal liability for any institution.

Today’s Bird Control Measures

Hospitals and healthcare centers are somewhat restricted in their use of pest bird control measures. They certainly can’t use firearms, noise cannons or fireworks. And poisons present too much of a liability. Besides, federal, state and local wildlife protection ordinances forbid the use of lethal or harmful bird control measures. Fortunately, there are several highly effective bird proofing solutions currently available that are safe, sane and humane.

Bird Spikes

The good thing about Bird Spikes is that they prevent many species of large birds from landing in the first place. Suddenly, rooftops, ledges, signs, light fixtures and other elevated areas are off-limits to birds. Bird Spikes come in rows of spiked strips. And you can get them in either rigid U.V.-resistant unbreakable polycarbonate or high strength, durable stainless steel. The stainless steel spikes come in 3-, 5- and 8-inch widths; the plastic spikes (which cost slightly less) come in 3-, 5- and 7-inch widths. Plastic spikes are ideal for use near antenna arrays since they won’t interfere with radiated RF energy. You can get bird spikes in a non-reflective metal finish or a variety of colors–like white, tan, gray, black, brown, brick red and crystal clear. There’s also a no-gap spike that’s easy to affix to curved surfaces.

If your hospital or healthcare center is being invaded by large birds like gulls, try the Mega Spike. Its 7-inch spikes made of marine grade stainless steel will make sure these birds get the point and leave. There’s also the Gutter Spike, ideal for keeping large pest birds out of gutters or drains. Look for gutter spikes that have adjustable clamps at the base; these allow the spikes to be easily attached to the lip of a gutter.

Lastly, Birds Spikes look dangerous, but they are harmless to birds or people. They have even been approved by a number of humane groups worldwide–including the U.S. Humane Society and PICAS (Pigeon Control Advisory Service).

Sonic Bird Deterrents

Ideal for use in certain areas of a hospital or healthcare center, Typically, Sonic Bird Deterrents emit predator and distress calls that frighten pest birds but are basically just Uncategorized sounds that are not unpleasant to humans. Some highly versatile sonic systems emit distress and predator calls for as many as 22 types of birds. The sounds are cycled every few minutes to convince pest birds that they best leave or risk being attacked. Sonic Bird Deterrents are an ideal bird control solution for deterring pigeons, crows, starlings, swallows, gulls, woodpeckers, sparrows, grackles, cormorants and many other birds.

Bird Netting

To keep pest birds out of certain specific areas–like eaves, overhangs, patios, and parking structure recesses–there’s Bird Netting. This barrier bird control measure is available in various cuts and mesh sizes. For large birds like pigeons or seagulls, use a 1-1/8-inch to 2-inch mesh size. Sparrows or starlings, on the other hand are best excluded using a 3/4-inch mesh net. The best bird repellent netting will meet ISO 1806 protocols, is U.V. stabilized, flame resistant and rot- and water-proof. In areas where electrical conductivity or radio frequency interference is a problem, non-conductive netting is often used. Also note that netting now comes in various colors– including white, stone and black–to match a structure’s color scheme.

Electric-Tracks
A great spot deterrent for ledges, rooflines, eaves, signs and most flat or curved surfaces, Electric Tracks impart a mild electrical shock when birds land on their surface. This is an ideal bird control device for use against a wide variety of pest birds–including pigeons, sparrows, gulls, starlings and crows. The best electric tracks feature a low-profile design that makes them almost invisible. The strips of electrified track are usually powered by an AC charger or solar charger. One manufacturer uses copper knitted wire mesh in a continuous tube-in-tube stocking design. This gives the track greater conductivity, strength and reliability. The copper mesh is resists corrosion and will stand up to alkali and acidic environments.
Bird Slope
These angled, slippery PVC panels known simply as Bird Slope, won’t allow pest birds enough of a grip to land. After a few unsuccessful attempts, they just slide off like water off a goose. Bird slopes are easily installed, tucking unnoticeably into ledges, eaves, beams and other 90-degree areas pest birds often nest. The best panels are U.V. protected and sun and weather resistant. They deter a wide range of birds, including swallows, starlings, pigeons and seagulls. Some panels have a “snap-on” extender, which allows them to adapt more easily to wider ledges and coverage areas.
Bird Scare Deterrents

These inexpensive bird control devices make pest birds too nervous to nest. There’s Flash tape, an iridescent material that shimmers and crackles in the sunlight and breeze to scare pest birds. And Bird Scare Balloons, which, emblazoned with lifelike reflective predator eyes, bob and weave menacingly in the breeze to make birds really uncomfortable.

Wading Into Internet Marketing

Internet marketing has the great advantage of low barriers/cost for entry. For as little as $50 and about 15 minutes you can be serving up pay per click (PPC) ads, with very little effort. This makes it very attractive for companies to try it out.

But you can’t really just try it out – not if you want to make it work. You’ve got to make a commitment; Internet marketing is similar to traditional marketing in that it is difficult to predict what will work in your target markets and what won’t. As with anything else in business, there are no guarantees of success.

Broaden Your Approach

As well, you don’t want to pin your hopes on the one Internet marketing activity you chose to try, because if the results are not as you expected, you’ll be disillusioned. Just like traditional marketing, communicating your message in more than one medium and multiple times will increase the probability of making the sale. Thankfully many online and offline elements work well together to achieve this. Along with a commitment, investment in a number of upfront activities will greatly improve success:

1. Research into keywords and user behaviour – These are staples in all Internet marketing activities; know them well.

2. The advice of experts – You don’t need them on your payroll and you don’t need them on every campaign, but an expert can help you choose the right Internet marketing tactics and ensure everything is set up correctly. As well they can interpret the campaign results. Click throughs (number of clicks to an advertisement), bounce rates (number of visitors who leave your site after viewing one page) and exit pages (pages that users are leaving your website from) can be a bit daunting. You may be able to judge if results are good or bad but more importantly, do you know what action to take next in order to improve?

3. Correct set up of analytics tools – To properly set up filters and segment your website traffic statistics to get at the data that is most important to your business is not straightforward, especially if multiple websites are involved. Many businesses don’t set up tracking correctly and work with inaccurate data.

4. Landing page templates – These are pages on your site specific to a campaign or promotion that people arrive at when they click from a PPC ad, online ad or a print campaign. A template based approach lets you reuse your investment for future campaigns.

5. Email template – If email is on your roster- and it should be since it’s cost effective and can be highly targeted – invest in 1 or 2 great templates. With a base template, all you need to do is swap in new content each time you want to send to your list. All of your emails will be consistently branded and polished if you take the time to do it right.

Your Return on Investment

These set-up activities will pay off in the long run. Yes, it’s more upfront cost, but once it’s all in place, subsequent campaigns will be mostly execution and reporting. And you don’t have to include their full cost in the Return on Investment (ROI) calculation – you can amortize them over a year or more to more accurately represent the value of your campaigns.

Approach Internet marketing with the knowledge that it is a cost-effective, flexible set of options to reach your market. But know that just because you can measure results, there is no guarantee of good results. By making an investment in the foundation activities and taking advantage of the intelligence that measurement provides, each campaign teaches you about the market and your user’s behaviour so subsequent campaigns can be that much stronger – every time.
